All Breed Dog Show
Trichy witnessed a landmark event on January 28th, where Sri Vignesh Vidyalaya in Koothur transformed into a haven for dog lovers during the All Breed Dog Show. Hosted by the Rotary Club of Tiruchirappalli Butterflies, this unique project in District 3000 welcomed 150 dogs showcasing 40 varieties.The All Breed Dog Show celebrated the diverse world of canines, emphasizing responsible pet ownership and the love shared with our four-legged friends. Rotary Club of Tiruchirappalli Butterflies, led by Rtn. Subha, Rtn. Parasakthi, Secretary, Rtn. Revathi, Treasurer, and event co-chairman Rtn. Nithya, and Rtn. Dr. Ganeshkumar, Founder of Pet Galaxy, organized the event along with support from five other participating Rotary clubs. it showcased unity among five Rotary clubs – Karur Angels, Pudokottai, Dindigul Kingtown, Perambalur Kings, and Madurai Malligai. The opening ceremony, led by Rtn. Subha, President of RCT Butterflies, set the stage for a captivating day dedicated to our furry friends. Rtn. Nithya, Co-Founder of Pet Galaxy, highlighted the event’s purpose – celebrating diversity among canine companions and promoting responsible pet ownership. Felicitation speeches by Rtn. Yoganantha Kumar (Assistant Governor), and Rtn. Janaki Regional coordinator acknowledged collective efforts of the Rotary members contributed to the success. The event was made possible by the generous sponsorship of Rtn. Srinivasan, for a grand prize of ₹25,000, with the 2nd and 3rd prizes being ₹15,000 and ₹10,000, respectively by Pet Galaxy. The event attracted 50 students from Karur schools, with a total of 500 visitors and seven stalls. The venue buzzed with excitement throughout the day. The event offered free anti-rabies vaccines, grooming sessions, and health check-ups for all participating dogs. Judges Dr. Venkatesh, Dr. Shankar, and Dr. Padmavathy, along with validation by Dr. I Senthil Kumar, IRTS, Sr. DCM, Southern Railway, and Mr. Harish Singh Nayal, Dy. Commandant, International Airport, and Mr. Killivalavan, Inspector of police, Mr. Arivalagan, Deputy Superintendent of police, Thiruverumbur, contributed to the fair and transparent judging process. The overwhelming response, with many interested in spot registrations, reflects the event’s success, despite the challenge of managing heavy registrations.
