Joining Hands for Vision: World Sight Day Awareness Event
On the momentous occasion of World Sight Day, a heartwarming collaboration unfolded in Trichy, India. Joseph Eye Hospital, along with Jamal Mohammed College , the Rotary Club of Tiruchirappalli Butterflies , the Rotary club of TRICHY Diamond City Queens came together to shed light on the importance of eye health. Their collective efforts illuminated the event, marking it as a significant step towards a brighter, clearer future. Joseph Eye Hospital is no stranger to advocating for eye health. Throughout the year, they tirelessly conduct awareness programs to educate the public. The global statistics are staggering; the World Health Organization reports that approximately 43 million people worldwide grapple with vision impairment. In India, the numbers are significant. World Sight Day, therefore, becomes more than just an annual observance; it transforms into a platform for disseminating crucial information about eye health. The event was graced by the presence of notable individuals such as Thiru Anbu, Deputy Superintendent of Police, and Thiru Kuthalingam, ADSP. These esteemed guests initiated the program and emphasized the critical importance of eye health. They set the tone for the event, reminding everyone that healthy vision is a gift that should be cherished. What made this event truly exceptional was the active participation of over 1,000 students from Jamal Mohamed College. With enthusiasm and determination, they pledged to protect their eyes and promote eye health. Secretary Jamal Mohammed college Dr. Kaja Najimudeen, the Managing Director of Joseph Eye Hospital Dr. Pradeepa, Past Disttict Governor Rtn . Gopal stood as exemplary leaders, inspiring the students and setting a remarkable precedent for the future. The event also saw the unwavering support of RotaryButterflies , Diamond City Queens presidents like Rtn. Subha and Rtn. Saranyaa Selvaraj and their members .Their dedication to the cause was evident, and their presence added immense value to the event.
